"The Foundation has concluded the 23rd competition in the START programme and selected this year?s 130 beneficiaries ? outstanding young scholars at the beginning of their scientific careers. Each of them will receive a Foundation scholarship worth 28,000 PLN. What this money is spent on is at the discretion of the recipient.
As part of the START scholarship, the Foundation also awards special distinctions to the highest-ranked candidates. The main criterion for award of distinctions is an exceptionally high quality of academic output, evaluated by the competition reviewers. This year, distinctions went to the following scholars:
