New Members of the FNP?s Council

"On September 25, the first meeting of the FNP Council for the 2020?2024 term was held at the Foundation for Polish Science headquarters. The term began on September 1, 2020, after the end of the last Council?s term of office after the 2016?2020 term. The meeting of the new Council was preceded by a ceremonial meeting of the new and old Council members, which was also attended by Dr. Anna Budzanowska, the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The new members of the FNP Council received appointment for the 2020?2024 term from the current Chairman of the Council, Prof. Leon Gradoń. The members of the new Council are: ? selected from the old Council:
  • Prof. Tomasz Guzik;
  • Prof. Jan Kotwica;
  • Prof. Maria Nowakowska;
  • Prof. Aleksandra Łuszczyńska;
? and selected from among candidates proposed by the old Council:
  • Prof. Piotr Garstecki;
  • Prof. Grażyna Jurkowlaniec;
  • Prof. Tomasz Łuczak.
Council members elected Prof. Tomasz Guzik as Chairman and Prof. Grażyna Jurkowlaniec as Deputy Chairwoman. According to FNP statutes, Council members are elected and appointed by the FNP Council. The membership comprises five to seven persons, the term in office is four years. The Council members have to hold the academic title of professor and may be appointed for a further term in office only once.
