Laureates of A. von Humboldt Polish Honorary Research Fellowship

"The Foundation for Polish Sciences has selected the beneficiaries of the Alexander von Humboldt Polish Honorary Research Fellowship. This scholarship is awarded to outstanding active German scholars in order to permit them to conduct scientific research at a selected institution in Poland. In the 25th round in the competition (edition 2021), the scholarships went to:

• Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Domcke from Technical University of Munich, invited for a three-month fellowship at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences to realise a project entitled ?Computational exploration of the reaction mechanisms involved in photoinduced water oxidation and hydrogen evolution with carbon nitrides? in cooperation with prof. Andrzej Sobolewski.
• Prof. Dr. Gerd Röpke from University of Rostock, invited for a six-month fellowship at the University of Wrocław to realise a project entitled ?Few-body correlations and clusters in hot and dense nuclear matter? in cooperation with prof. Davide Blaschke.
• Dr. Shrikrishnan Sankaran from the Leibniz-Institut für Neue Materialien gGmbH, invited for a three-month fellowship at the Biotechnology Center of the Silesian University of Technology to realise a project entitled ?Finding the way: Bacterial motility in 3D hierarchical architectures? in cooperation with dr Małgorzata Włodarczyk-Biegun.
• Prof. Dr. iur. Michael Stürner from the University of Konstanz, invited for a six-month fellowship at the University of Zielona Góra to realise a project entitled ?The Private International Law Dimension of Corporate Social Responsibility? in copperation with prof. Arkadiusz Wudarski.

Scholarship beneficiaries will receive each 4000 euro per month. Congratulations! Stipends are awarded on the basis of the 1995 agreement between the FNP and the Humboldt Foundation. As a result of this contract, the Foundation for Polish Science joined similar organisations from countries with analogous partnership agreements on mutual awarding of these distinctions to the most outstanding scholars. The invitation enables beneficiaries to conduct their research projects in accordance with their own choice in cooperation with scientists from the host country. The name of the stipend takes the name of the patron to invoke the best traditions of cooperation of Polish and German scientists. Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859), a German naturalist, traveller and geographer, worked together with many Poles and was an honorary member of the Society of Friends of Sciences in Warsaw and the first promoter of Adam Mickiewicz?s poetry in Germany. There are no future calls planned as part of this program.
