FNP laureate publishes article in Nature Chemistry

" We are pleased to report that Dr Artur R. Stefankiewicz, a professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he is affiliated with the Faculty of Chemistry and the Wielkopolska Centre for Advanced Technologies, has published a work in the prestigious journal Nature Chemistry as part of an international research team. Stefankiewicz is a laureate of the Foundation for Polish Science?s HOMING PLUS programme. The article, ?Coordination cages as permanently porous ionic liquids,? arose through cooperation between three research teams, headed by Prof. Jonathan R. Nitschke, Prof. Thomas D. Bennett, and Dr Stefankiewicz. The publication involves the synthesis of porous ionic liquids capable of selective binding of various forms of isomeric particles of alcohols and gases, of which the complexing of particles of fluorochlorocarbons responsible for the phenomenon of declining ozone concentrations in the stratosphere is particularly noteworthy. Dr Artur R. Stefankiewicz, professor of Adam Mickiewicz University, is a chemist. His main field of research is supramolecular chemistry. He is involved in synthesis and study of the physical chemical properties and functions of multi-dynamic nanostructures such as nanocapsules, polymers and adaptive materials. He is the co-author of 57 scientific publications (H-index 20), including in such prominent journals as Science, Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Science, Chemical Review, and Chemical Society Review. Stefankiewicz is a 2005 graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry at Adam Mickiewicz University. In 2009 he completed doctoral studies in the team of Nobel laureate Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn in Strasbourg. In 2009?2013 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cambridge in the team of Prof. Jeremy Sanders. In 2014 he earned his postdoctoral (habilitation) degree. He is a beneficiary of numerous research programmes, such as Marie Curie (EU), Homing Plus (FNP), Lider (National Centre for Research and Development), Sonata Bis (National Science Centre), and Iuventus Plus (Ministry of Science and Higher Education). He has received numerous awards for his scientific accomplishments, including a French government BGF scholarship, a research prize from the Polish Chemical Society for the best postdoctoral thesis, and a final prize from Polityka weekly. He has been a member of the Polish Young Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2019. Also read:
